Our roleClimate change and value chain analysis lead, as MEDA’s Senior Project Manager, Climate Change and Sustainability

The need

MEDA wanted to widen economic opportunity for women and youth entrepreneurs in Jordan’s food processing and community-based tourism sectors, and needed affordable, market-based clean technology solutions that those businesses could adopt.

What we did

We led a team of three through a clean technology value chain analysis, with participatory research and group discussions involving technology suppliers, distributors, end consumers, small entrepreneurs and SMEs, business associations, technology incubators and government ministries, from Bedouin communities to corporate chief executives. The team built user archetypes and journey maps to find where the clean technology market could serve these entrepreneurs.

Deliverables

FAQ

Questions about private sector and MSME climate finance

What is MSME finance?

MSME finance is lending, savings, insurance and other financial services for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The MSME finance gap is the difference between what these businesses need and what lenders provide.

What is green financing for MSMEs?

Green financing for MSMEs helps small businesses invest in energy efficiency, cleaner production and climate resilience. LirioAI designs the lending products and advisory services that reach small businesses, and the market systems that sustain them.

What is value chain development?

Value chain development strengthens the links between producers, processors, buyers and service providers so that a whole value chain becomes more productive, inclusive and resilient. LirioAI has extensive experience in private sector development, value chain development and market systems development across various continents.
