The need

Small businesses in Fiji need practical advice on adapting to climate change and on financing climate action, and the national business advisors who serve them had not been trained to give it.

What we did

With Business Assistance Fiji, we wrote a practical guide with hands-on resources for advisors supporting small businesses, and ran introductory workshops in Suva, Nadi and Labasa on climate-adaptive and resilient measures, climate finance for MSMEs and women-owned MSMEs, with remote follow-up. We assessed each advisor’s competency in climate-related advisory skills and gave the strongest an advanced second round of training.

Deliverables

Advisor guide, introductory and advanced workshops, competency assessments, and interim and final reports to the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on learning outcomes and the support small businesses need.

We can also deliver this training as e-learning on your learning management system. E-learning and website development →
